Padre Pio's Mercedes

A 1959 Mercedes-Benz 190 D (pictured) that belonged to the Franciscan Capuchin saint Padre Pio of Pietrelcina will be auctioned off this week in the northeastern Italian city of Padua, a car auctioneer said.

The auction is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 27, said the COYS auction house.

The auctioneer said it expects the car to sell for several hundred thousand euros.

The Mercedes-Benz was given to Padre Pio by a family grateful for a miracle that had been performed by the friar, said the auctioneer.
